SASEhack is a hackathon for college students, undergraduate and graduate. Any major, any experience level. You do not need to know how to code to take part.
It has two competitions:
You can win without ever going to Seattle. The two competitions are judged separately â see the Judging section below.
Teams are 1 to 4 people. You can enter alone, but we recommend at least two: every winning team so far has had two or more members. Teams come together in the Discord in the days before kickoff â see Finding a team below.
SASEhack runs under STEM Connect, SASE's flagship national convention â October 1-3, 2026, in Seattle, WA. It's three days of career and professional development, recruiting with STEM employers, workshops, and networking.
The SASEhack Pitch Competition happens there on Thursday, October 1, and winners are announced Friday, October 2.

You do not need a convention ticket to do SASEhack. The online competition is free to enter, fully remote, and open to every registered hacker. A ticket only matters if your team is invited to pitch live in Seattle â at that point, at least one member of your team must already hold one. We cannot cover travel or convention registration.
